The challenge

We were doing a firm move in 2018 and we ran into a lot of issues with our provider setting up the new space. We wanted to be wireless. They said we shouldn’t do it. We’d been with them a long time but I had been looking into all of our vendors and making changes if they weren’t a good fit. Our old IT provider was too expensive, didn’t listen, and was married to wires. We didn’t want that at our new office.

The solution

Vertex listened. We’ve onboarded to Vertex’s managed services and private cloud solution. Our systems need a lot of cloud resources and Vertex took the time to monitor and evaluate these requirements to properly size our cloud environment. They fixed security issues we didn’t know we had—there’s been a huge focus on security hardening. In addition to adding new firewall and endpoint security, Vertex also implemented Multi-Factor authentication. They’ve done a lot of security hardening work in the configuration and setup of our IT and Microsoft 365 systems. This was important to me since all of our staff are working remotely during COVID.

The results

We were transitioning from our old provider to Vertex when COVID-19 happened. Our old provider made the transition very difficult. Vertex jumped in and sorted out what ended up being a bigger project than expected. Have we run into issues? Yes. We’ve only been with Vertex for a few months. But I have confidence that Vertex is monitoring things and will iron out the kinks.

The onboarding process has been amazing. Even on the first day with Vertex, they gave us step-by-step detailed instructions. With everything they’ve implemented, I’ve been able to send a detailed PDF to the firm that explains how to do things. The customer service has been great.
